Unfortunately for me Lush Husband is abstaining from alcohol for Lent (and soda, what a bummer). I’ve really missed my drinking buddy BUT he has been infusing some fantastic creations in preparation for his reunion with booze. This includes a jalapeño tequila, sour cherry mezcal, and a Blackberry Mezcal. The smokiness of the mezcal is going to pair nicely with the sweet and tarty berry. You know what family is going to be drunk after church this Easter? This one!

Pineapple infused vodka on the rocks at Red Door Saloon in Nashville, TN. I get it every time I visit my hometown.

About two weeks ago I posted about tequila my husband was infusing with local Pearson’s peaches. We decided it was time to enjoy it! We mixed it with honey syrup and this white cranberry peach juice for a light & summer-y tequila drink.

Watermelon with vodka, two ways.
No. 1 I jabbed the vodka bottle in the melon and let it sit for 2 weeks. (Instructions here).
No. 2I filled a jar with cubes of watermelon and added the vodka. I let this sit in a dark area for 2 weeks.
The verdict is… I prefer the jar infusion. I strained the vodka through a coffee filter, and am now enjoying it straight from a shot glass. Nom nom.
