Margarita + Corona = Margarona
We’ve all had cake at office birthday gatherings… but have you ever had Margarita Cake with tequila lime glaze? What a way to spice up a work day!
This cake was brought in by the lovely and, apparently very talented baker, Kristin, and was every bit as delicious as it looks. She was kind enough to share the recipe she used from Food.com. I would recommend trying this out next time you need to whip up a moist cake with a punch of flavor.
*Tip: Kristin did not have the lemon cake the recipe calls for, so she used white cake and replaced the water with lemon juice. She also used more powdered sugar on top to “balance the tang”.

I’m becoming quite the fan of the Espolon brand. And anyway, I will always buy a product with a badass illustration of a skeleton riding a chicken. I tried the “Real Mexican Margarita” recipe on the back of this bottle, and will never go back to the sweet stuff.
“Real Mexican Margarita”
+ 3 oz blanco or reposado tequila
+ 2 oz fresh lime juice
+ 1/2 oz agave nectar

Nothing is better than having a margarita under a tree in your favorite park. I’m really looking forward to another Grant Park Festival.

I had the pleasure of dining at Agave in Cabbagetown, Atlanta this weekend. They are a Southwest restaurant known for having the best margaritas in the city. This jalapeno margarita was no let down. It was full of all the flavor of a jalapeno without the spice. The more traditional ‘ritas were fantastic as well. it’s no wonder they named their establishment after the plant from which tequila is derived.

Margarita Texas at Pure Taqueria in Inman Park, Atlanta. Their house margarita with a floater of Gran Gala orange liquor. No other margarita compares.

I had a blast playing bingo at Matador Cantina last night! It was hosted by a hilarious drag queen in her best 4th of July outfit. (You’ll have to use your imagination). No wins, but the Georgia Peach margarita was yummo.
