Is this not the most beautiful Sazerac you have ever seen? Built with Bulleit Rye, Herbsaint, sugar and Peychaud’s bitters, it was a scrumptious little piece of New Orleans found in Atlanta. Thanks DBA Barbecue.

The most popular drink at the Wrecking Bar Brewpub is the In The Park, and after you’ve had one there is no question as to why. This cocktail fuses Gordon’s Gin, fresh basil, grapefruit juice and soda into a smooth and bright herbal tongue pleaser.

What better day than Saturday for some good day drinking? But where at? This past weekend I choose to try out the new Wrecking Bar Brewpub in Little Five Points, Atlanta. And man am I glad I did. There are some great drinks, fantastic people and brilliant brewmaster and bartenders in that joint. Since they are indeed a brewpub I had to try the brew. Shown here is a beer sampler, including a stout, IPA, WIT, and dubbel. See the rest of the list here. I will be featuring more of their libations throughout the week so check back for more!

I had my first pickle back! If you haven’t heard of it, it’s a shot of Jameson whiskey with a pickle juice chaser. Everyone was talking about them when I left NYC so it had a lot of hype to live up to. I am a lover of pickle juice, but I think this combo might be an acquired taste I need to work on.

I have to do a short series dedicated to the drinks at DBA BBQ in Virginia Highlands, Atlanta, featuring the most unique Southern cocktail menu I’ve seen yet. The food and decor are equally as wonderful, but you know that’s not what gets me going. DBA has a moonshine list including some more traditional shines, and flavors as well. There are also house made wine coolers, and muscadine wine. Check out the cocktail menu for yourself!

I had to buy this wine for the label. The cork was beautiful as well. The wine was good… and now gone.
